7:30pm update:
Here are updated heat maps for the Caldor Fire, captured at about 6:30pm on August 21, 2021.
At this time, the eastern edge of the fire is on top of Bald Mountain, about four miles west of Strawberry and 10 miles from Echo Summit.
The fire ran about four miles to the east today with much less movement to the west. The largest area of growth on the west fire was about a mile of spread near the intersection of Grizzly Flats Road and Caldor Road. The fire spotted over Highway 50 at Kyburz, and the spot fire was about 60 acres at 6:30pm.
