NEW #OakFire MAPPING JUST IN FROM FIRIS FLIGHT White perimeter from IR captured 7/23 @ 10:46pm PDT. Red perimeter is mapping from today 7/24 @ 11:48am PDT. Blue fill shows footprints for the past 20 years of previous fires in the targeted area.

#OakFire overview: IR data captured 07/23/2022 @ 2246 PDT. Red fill shows where the fire is most active. Yellow fill shows where the fire is cooling down. Blue fill shows footprints for the past 20 years of previous fires in the targeted area.

Overview with VIIRS: Satellite heat signatures detect heat from smoke columns. The red dots on our map give a general idea of heat in the proximity of the fire, red dots are not necessarily representative of where the fire actually is.

The white perimeter to red areas represent approximately five hours of fire growth.
