Boise Fire backing into recent fires – Ryan Stephens

After making a significant slope reversal and running to the top of Antenna Ridge, the fire has moderated over the past 24 hours and is now backing into recent fire footprints. Today, crews are working on the fire’s east side with the addition of two new divisions. These resources are tasked with reopening lines from Orleans Mountain to Nordheimer Flat. Crews will also be working to construct hand line along High Point Ridge via the Nordheimer Trail. Priority continues to be protecting the community of Orleans. Weather today is expected to be similar to yesterday.

Last Night’s Lookout Live

Zeek talked about current tactics on the #BoiseFire, in the Klamath Mountain, and took a deep dive into the fire effects of the #ParkFire in the Big Chico Creek Watershed, above our hometown of Chico, California.
We share some post-fire drone footage of Upper Bidwell Park shot by a guy who goes by Brian Beans. We look at satellite imagery of the burn severity from Chico up to Butte Meadows, look at prospects for flooding and landslides above Chico this winter, and tour the geography of the Park Fire’s initial run using some helicopter photography of the powerline corridor between Bidwell Park and Paynes Creek that Zeek shot back in 2003.
