Today’s Livestream aired at 7am.
Lightning has ignited many fires in Western Oregon and several have become large. This video provides an overview of the largest fires, in the Tyee Ridge Complex, the Chilcoot Fire east of Roseburg and Glide, the Lookout Fire, near MacKenzie Bridge, and the Camp Creek Fire, in Portland’s water supply, the Bull Run Watershed. We’ll look at how other recent large fires in the area may affect potential spread on the new fires. Aerial infrared and heat satellite data in these videos is current as of the morning of 8/28/20223.
We also look at the spread of ongoing NW Cal fires, and talk about upcoming weather forecasts, firing operations, and progress of fireline construction.
The livestreams have chapters, and you can scroll along the YouTube timeline to see the specific fire you are interested in. If this is hard to do in this page, click on the ‘YouTube’ link in bottom right of the video to see the video in YouTube, and you can navigate the chapter links in the description.
Thanks always to everyone who participates in the Livestreams. We’ll answer questions if we can – we appreciate the community vibe.
We’ll be doing livestreams starting sometime between 7 and 7:30am during the week, with occasional evening updates if things are changing fast. Thanks for tuning into THE LOOKOUT.
