7/11/2025 – 4pm Intel Update – Green Fire.
The fire has been much more active today than the past several days. Watch our livestream, below, and/or scroll down for maps and a quick update.
From the 11:45am FIRIS flight, and webcams it looks like the pyrocumulus/column action has been on the south flank of the fire, burning out the bowl on the north side of Brock Mountain. View below is to west over Pit River. Green line is 11:45 perimeter.
Time contour is about 14 hours between outer 2 red lines.
The good news as of the 11:45 flight was that the fire hadn’t advanced much into Ripgut Creek, on east side of the fire, where crews are prepping the main ridge south of Fenders Ferry Road. North is slightly tilted to the right.
On the west side of the fire, the spread had move downhill toward Sulanharas Creek and the road which heads south from Chirpchatter Campground. In some spots, it looks like the fire may have crossed the road, but it’s hard to tell at this scale of mapping.
Overall spread on the west side of the fire today appears to have backing slowly downhill. The NW corner was more active than the rest of the west flank.
