Maps for the Evans Creek Fire – 7/17/2026

Here are some maps from last night’s infrared flight of the Evans Creek Fire, north of Central Point/Medford, Oregon.
In the past 24 hours, the main fire backed down to the 34-3-3.2 Road on the SW. It didn’t spread much to the north.
The larger spot fire to the east (Board Mtn) made a significant run to the south over past 24 hours, and had a new spot fire off its south end. It spread a little to the north, and not much to the east, where there is a significant amount of dozer line.
The smaller spot fire, above Trail, had little spread.
The spot fire across East Evans Creek Road, from 7/15, appears to be checked with dozer line.
We’ll take a look at the fire’s activity this evening on The Lookout Livestream at 7pm.

Red lines are last night’s perimeter (midnight 7/16-7/17).
Yellow lines are from the night before last (7/15)
White lines are two days ago (night of 7/14)

On 2am heat satellites, there appears to be a firing operation underway along dozer line to the west of DP 35 in Division F to tie the fire down to the roads, below.

2am heat satellites show firing ops.

Board Mtn Fire spread to south over past 24 hours, with minor spread to north.

Fire above Trail didn’t spread much.
