Resources

There are a lot of good resources out there for folks wanting to learn more about fire or to get involved in good fire. Here are some of our favorites.

The College of DuPage Weather Pages are good for fast-loading weather visuals.

California Prescribed Burn Association

There are many prescribed burn associations just in California, and more across the United States. For Californians: get on the California Prescribed Burn Association website. You can search for an active group in a town near you. As of today, in 2022, there are 14 associations in California. Many of them do burns on the weekends, making it easier for the general public to participate. Here in our local PBA, in Butte County, we offer trainings in the early fall and then burn, conditions permitting, October through April. Come participate in your local burns, or start your own association if you don’t have one nearby. This website can help you start one. Come see what being a land steward is all about.
