Overview of the Mosquito Fire. Good news is, the fire appeared to hold to the north of Volcanoville rd. Fire also still holding to the east of Chicken Hawk rd on the northeastern portion of the fire near El Dorado Canyon.

Most notably, fire is now seen impacting Foresthill. Fire has progressed north up Snyder Canyon and beyond Mosquito Ridge rd into Soap Street and Lowe Street areas. Fire is also seen approaching Baltimore Mine Road.

We’ve been using the Foresthill Elementary School to track how far the fire was from town. This image speaks volumes.

Across the American River to the south, fire is seen between Volcanoville and the American River Canyon. It is unclear if this mile long jump in the fire is due to firing Ops.

Big slop over on Tunnel Hill. The fire has crossed Tunnel Hill Rd. and Lofty Peak Ln, and sent spots further west near Snowy Ct. and Tunnel Hill Loop Rd.

Fire moved more than a mile here in the past 12 hours.

Fire continues to move and spot to the south in the direction of Quintette.

September 9th, 7 am: The fire made big moves yesterday. Most notably, jumping the American River and running up to the top of the canyon at Volcanoville Road. The fire also moved further northeast along the east side of Chickenhawk Road and established deeper into the El Dorado Canyon. In the southeast, the fire made a huge leap, nearly reaching Quintette.

Mosquito Fire Weather Forecast:

Fairview Fire

The big concern today on the Fairview Fire is the upcoming weather impact from hurricane remnants:

Fairview Fire perimeter was captured by FIRIS today, September 9 at 6am. Looking South over Highway 74, east of Hemet.

View to SE, over Hemet.

View to east, over Cactus Valley.

View north over Red Mountain Road and Minto Way.

There are concerns incoming east winds ahead of the arrival of Hurricane Kay off the San Diego coast will blast the Fairview Fire west toward Murrieta and Temecula, on the top of this west-looking view.
